Pleasant Pointe FAQ’s
Visiting hours are open. Please sign in and out at the reception area each time you visit. The facility’s doors lock at 9:00 pm. If you are visiting after that time, please call the nurses station in advance so that someone is available to open the door for you.
Which languages are spoken at Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living?
At Pleasant Pointe, along with English, we have staff members who speak Slovak and Hungarian.
How often will a physician or health professional visit?
Physicians generally see residents upon admission and once every 30 days thereafter. However, our nursing professionals are in constant contact with all of the physicians that visit the facility. Some insurance companies require that physicians visit more often. Check with our nursing staff for further information.
Can we bring personal items to make the room more homelike?
Yes. You may bring a television or other small items that do not interfere with the comfort or the safety of a roommate or interfere with staff members who need to move freely about the residents’ room to provide for care for the residents. Please contact the office for approval before bringing any pieces of furniture to the facility.
Can a resident leave the facility?
Residents may have a leave of absence only with a physician’s authorization, which can be arranged through the nursing staff. Upon arrival and departure, the resident or responsible party must sign the LOA (leave of absence) book, located at the nursing station.
Can we do their laundry?
Yes. You have the option of either laundering personal clothing or allowing Pleasant Pointe to launder the clothes. Please have all clothing properly marked with an indelible marker and notify nursing if you will be doing their laundry. A hamper will be used to keep their laundry separate.
If there are missing articles, what should we do?
If an article is missing, please contact the nurse and describe the missing item. The nurse in turn will notify all departments. Together we’ll assist in trying to locate the missing article.
How can I find out how my resident is doing?
Please feel free to call the facility and ask for their nurse. The nursing staff will be happy to discuss the residents condition with the family.
Can my loved one receive mail?
Mail is delivered to residents personally on a daily basis except for weekends and holidays.

Consider using our Send a Greeting feature on the website. You can choose from a variety of post cards to fill out and mail to your loved one for a small fee or you may type a message and through email, send us your email greeting that we will hand deliver to your loved one residing in our facility. Our email feature is free of charge.
Can I bring in my loved one’s favorite food?
Yes. Please notify the nurse if you are bringing any food into the facility so that it will not interfere with scheduled meals or dietary and medication restrictions as ordered by the physician. All food must be in sealed containers.
Do all the residents have to eat in the dining rooms?
We encourage all residents to eat in the dining rooms, however, if they are recovering from an illness the nurse may suggest that a tray be brought into their room. The resident does have the right to determine where they want to eat.
Does everyone have to participate in all activities?
No. We provide a wide range of individual and group activities. We encourage participation, however, it is not mandatory. The activity staff also encourages the family members to get involved with our volunteer program.
Is there a beauty and barber shop on site?
Yes. We have beauty and barber shop services at the facility. We also offer manicures and pedicures. Prices and times for these services are provided at the front desk.
Will my loved one’s room have a television?
We recommend that you bring your television from home. Please check with the front desk on size restrictions and installation. We offer a common room for TV viewing.
Is Cable TV available?
Yes. We will assist with setting up cable TV for residents in their rooms. Please contact the front desk for details.
What telephone access is available for residents and their families?
There are cordless phones available for all residents at the nurses stations. You are welcome to bring your own cell phone. There are telephone hookups in each room. We can assist in getting a phone line with the local phone company. We have a private area with access to a public phone for use by our residents and/or their families.
Will my loved one have internet access?
WiFi Internet is provided for residents and their guests. Please contact our front desk for details. We have a Internet Cafe’ for residents and guests. Smart TV and I Pads are also available.
Who do I talk to about questions in regard to financials, billing, and/or admission paperwork?
We employ a full time Business Office Manager for all financial and billing concerns. Should you have any questions regarding these matters please make an appointment to see our Business Office Manager by contacting the front desk/receptionist.
